Quote

The quote that I chose was from page 375, "Many women feel ambivalent about their bodies. In significant ways women's bodies are a source of empowerment: They create life, give birth, work out, express sensuality and sexuality". I know that a lot of others from the class chose this as their quote, but I wanted to elaborate on the quote. 
I didn't have a chance to mention this in class last time, but I wanted to bring up how hard women are on each other, not just men. A lot of the times I hear men saying "you look great", "I don't notice when she wears makeup or doesn't"...etc. Most of the time it is women noticing negative things about other women's bodies. We do have amazing bodies and should appreciate them. Everyone has different bodies, but even if a woman cannot have children, her body is still so unique to all men's bodies and every other woman in the world.
