I was just reading the post that Professor McGee posted a few days ago about the professor in Toronto that will not teach any women writers in his class, and I was interested to see if there was anything else about him out there. So, I googled it. This is an interview that I found that I thought was pretty interesting to hear his side of the story although it does seem he is not telling us the real story.
Here's the link:

There are two videos. Both are pretty good but the longer one has more of what he has to say for himself.

Thanks Jessica. There has been a evolving discussion in print around this article (here's one example: http://www.buzzfeed.com/alannaokun/hey-guys-who-only-read-other-guys-stop-that) He also has been trying to do some damage control, but honestly I find this subsequent interview (http://arts.nationalpost.com/2013/09/25/david-gilmour-there-isnt-a-racist-or-a-sexist-bone-in-my-body/) more offensive that his initial remarks considering the way he keeps dismissively referring to the "young woman" who wrote the article and how he was talking to a French man while "tossing comments over his shoulder" to this young woman (who he obviously does not value as much and seems to be annoyed that she quoted him.....)
